Heejung Shim

Dr Heejung Shim is a group leader within Melbourne Integrative Genomics at the University of Melbourne and a Lecturer in the School of Mathematics and Statistics. Her research interests lie in the areas of statistical genomics, computational statistics, Bayesian statistics, and bioinformatics.
Most of her recent research focuses on statistical modelling and the development of statistical and computational methods for the analysis of complex and large-scale genomics data. Dr Shim completed her PhD in Statistics at the University of Wisconsin at Madison and did a postdoc at the University of Chicago. Previous to her current position at the University of Melbourne, she was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at the Purdue University and currently retains an affiliation with Purdue as an Adjunct Assistant Professor.
