TrungTin Nguyen is an applied statistician and mathematician whose research focuses on understanding the mechanisms and interactions between natural and artificial intelligence.

His current work involves developing genotype-phenotype mapping methods for high-dimensional, heterogeneous biological data, leveraging artificial intelligence techniques (such as modular deep learning, including mixture of experts, large language models, and physics-/biologically informed neural networks) alongside statistical learning approaches (including Bayesian inference, model selection, handling of missing data, and probabilistic graphical models). He is also working to establish statistical principles for calibrating large-scale mathematical models of metabolism to experimental data.

TrungTin Nguyen received his Ph.D. in Statistics and Data Science in 2022. He held his first postdoctoral position at Inria, the French National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology, followed by a second postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Queensland in 2024. He is currently a MACSYS Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Applied Statistics at the Queensland University of Technology.
