Soroush is a PhD candidate at the Queensland University of Technology supervised by Prof Richi Nayak, Prof Divya Mehta, and Dr Md Abul Bashar. His research develops automated text mining methods to extract biomedical knowledge from scientific literature by identifying entities (like genes, chemicals, diseases, etc) and their relationships.

Before joining QUT, he received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in information technology. His master’s research was centred around combining word embeddings for the Persian language inference task. In another part of his master’s research, he contributed to collecting the first Persian dataset for natural language inference task in a 22-month team effort.
