MACSYS Theme 3 Workshop @ UNSW

MACSYS Theme 3 Workshop @ UNSW
Workshop in Automating Whole Cell Modelling
- Leaders: Wenjie Zhang, Richi Nayak
- Location: University of New South Wales, Sydney
- Kens K17 B01 Basement – see map: Kensington-Campus-Map
Vision and Overarching Goal of Theme 3:
To develop the tools necessary for efficient automated generation of large-scale computer models of biological cells by establishing a pipeline that combines information and text mining; systematic knowledge representation; automated exploration of model spaces and statistical model calibration; model visualisation, curation and dissemination.
Aims of Theme 3 Workshop: To bring together people from across disciplines to:
- discuss ongoing MACSYS activities; projects that are currently being developed;
- Showcase capabilities in machine learning, large language models, artificial intelligence and the intersections with biological problems;
- Demonstrating existing research projects relevant and contributing to whole cell modelling
- identify multi-disciplinary efforts required for automated whole cell modelling
- Ignite collaborations across areas and nodes
Structure of the Theme 3 Workshop: Across 2 days, MACSYS investigators, fellows and HDR students, as well as partners, will be invited to join the workshop in-person. The workshop will feature invited talks, lightning talks, and panel discussions. Partners will be invited to engage with MACSYS researchers and participate in all the sessions. Insights for research directions and collaborations will be collated as actions after the workshop.
