Professor Ruth Baker Visits MACSYS

MACSYS is excited to welcome Professor Ruth Baker for her visit to Australia.  Ruth is a Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Oxford and a MACSYS Partner Investigator.  Her research focuses on developing and applying novel mathematical, computational and statistical methodologies and modelling frameworks for investigating developmental biology systems at the cell and tissue level.  She develops biologically realistic models that, used in tandem with experimental investigations, can provide fundamental insights into key biological mechanisms.

Ruth will make stops at three MACSYS nodes:  QUT in Brisbane, UNSW Sydney, and The University of Melbourne.  In each of those stops, she will deliver a seminar:  “Opportunities for data-driven modelling in cell and developmental biology”.  The stops will also provide an opportunity for MACSYS members to meet individually with her.  If you would like to arrange a meeting, contact your node leader or administrator.
