MACSYS 2026 Retreat

We are excited to announce the 2026 MACSYS Retreat, taking place at the Novotel Wollongong Northbeach Hotel in Wollongong in NSW (the Student & Research Fellow workshop will also take place there just before the Retreat).

• This is a private event and registration is only open for MACSYS members and invited guests.
• Student & Research Fellow Workshop: MACSYS students and Research Fellows are highly encouraged to attend!
• MACSYS Annual Retreat:  ALL MACSYS members are highly encouraged to attend – including students, Research Fellows, CIs, AIs, Partner Investigators and professional staff.

• Monday, 26 October: Student & Research Fellow Workshop
• Tuesday, 27 October:
  • Morning: Student & Research Fellow Workshop
  • Afternoon: MACSYS All-Member Retreat
• Weds-Fri, 28-30 October:  MACSYS All-Member Retreat

There is a travel budget allocated to each Node to fund travel (please discuss with your Node leader). MACSYS HQ will pay for your accommodation and most meals at the Novotel. Please contact your local Node administrator or leader for help with booking travel.

MACSYS partners with organisations and people who share our goals of advancing scientific discovery. Valuing integrity, curiosity and open-mindedness in collaborators, MACSYS looks to work with academic, community, government and industry organisations. As such when attending MACSYS events or workshops there may be external guests in attendance, such as representatives from partner organisations or invited industry guests. At these events, individual researchers opt-in to presenting their work and can decide to limit the sharing of sensitive data or information pre-publication. Students and Research Fellows should seek guidance from their supervisors when unsure, and any concerns can be raised with event organisers.

MACSYS Carers Support Scheme: MACSYS attendees that require carer support, for themselves or their dependents, to engage with this event can apply to the MACSYS Carers Support Scheme. Please apply at least 4 weeks before the event. Any questions regarding the scheme can be directed to the MACSYS EPCC committee at macsys-monash-node-admin@monash.edu.
